Two weekends carry more student moving than the rest of the calendar put together, and both are known about a year ahead. Everything here is about using that rather than being caught by it.

Student moving questions
How much does a student move cost in London?
A single room within London is £150 to £340 including VAT, most around £220. A run to Heathrow or Gatwick is £120 to £260. Storage out in June and back in September is £280 to £620 for both legs together, and an end of term room clearance is £120 to £280.
When is the busiest time to book?
The middle or third weekend of September for arrivals, and the last two weeks of June for departures. Nearly every hall in London turns over inside those two windows. Book a month out for either, and expect the good slots to go first.
Can you store my things over the summer?
We move a room into a storage facility in June and back out in September, quoted as one job at £280 to £620. You hold the contract with the facility and pay them for the storage; we do not keep goods on our own premises, which means you can reach your things without going through us.
Do you ship things internationally?
No. We are a Central London man and van rather than a freight forwarder, so no ocean freight, no air freight and no customs. We do every part that happens in London: hall to airport, hall to your shipper's depot, or hall to storage, working alongside whoever is doing the shipping.
What if I am moving a whole flat rather than a room?
Then the room price is the wrong one to look at. A studio is £340 to £620 and a one bedroom flat £420 to £850, and the cost guides break both down with worked examples. Second year moves out of halls into a shared flat are usually in that territory rather than this one.
Do you clear what I am leaving behind?
Yes, £120 to £280 for a room including the tipping fees, with a waste transfer note issued to you. It is almost always cheaper than the charge the hall applies for clearing a room, and it is the only version that comes with paperwork proving where things went.
