Almost entirely walk-ups. The residential floors above Soho's commercial ground floors are reached by a single street door and a steep staircase, frequently with a dogleg at the first landing. Rooms are small, ceilings vary, and flat-pack furniture that came up in boxes often has to go down the same way. Lifts are rare enough that we treat them as a bonus rather than an assumption.
