Man and Van at London Bridge: Removals in SE1

Covering SE1 in Southwark. Tooley Street flats, towers by the station and the Guy's campus. Fixed price agreed before we start, with the parking, the lift and the access sorted in advance.

London Bridge is the station, the hospital and the offices, with a residential district wrapped around them. Along Tooley Street and the streets behind it there are Victorian mansion blocks and converted warehouses; around St Thomas Street and the Shard the newer towers have concierge desks and booked loading. Guy's Hospital and the King's College campus beside it mean a steady run of staff and student moves.

It is also one of the quickest places in south London to move into the City, with London Bridge itself straight over the river. Offices at More London and around Hay's Galleria move floors and buildings regularly, and those jobs usually happen at weekends, when the station traffic eases and the goods lifts are free.

The buildings in London Bridge

A mix that changes street by street. Devon Mansions on Tooley Street is a long run of Victorian mansion block with communal stairs and no room to spare on the landings. The converted warehouses between Tooley Street and the railway have shared goods lifts and gated entrances. The towers around St Thomas Street and the station have concierge, service lifts and loading bays booked by slot. South of the railway, towards Long Lane, there are Southwark estate blocks with lifts and ordinary estate access.

Parking, loading and access in London Bridge

London Bridge is inside the Congestion Charge zone, which runs to Tower Bridge Road on this side of the river, and the ULEZ applies as it does across London; both are in the price. Borough High Street and Tower Bridge Road are red routes, and Tooley Street is busy with buses and station traffic through the day. Southwark controls the parking. The railway viaduct runs through the area and several streets pass under low arches, including around Crucifix Lane and Druid Street, so vehicle height matters. More London and the managed office buildings have their own service yards with booking systems and security, and the towers expect contractor documents before a slot is confirmed.

Man and van in London Bridge: common questions

How is London Bridge different from a Borough move?

The market. Borough is shaped by Borough Market and its delivery traffic, while London Bridge is shaped by the station, the hospital and the office estates along the river. Here the constraint is usually a booked service yard or a low railway arch, not market stalls.

There is a railway arch on the way to my street. Will the van fit?

It decides which van we bring. Some of the arches around Crucifix Lane and Druid Street will not clear a Luton. Give us the address and we will check the approach and send a vehicle that fits.

Can you move an office at More London over a weekend?

Yes. The service yards and goods lifts are easier to book at weekends and the surrounding streets are quieter. The building will want crew and vehicle details in advance, which we send direct to the building management.

Is London Bridge in the Congestion Charge zone?

Yes. This part of SE1 is inside the zone and the charge is built into the quoted price.
