Man and Van in Knightsbridge
Covering SW1X, SW7 in City of Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea. Managed apartment blocks and retail units along the Brompton Road. Fixed price agreed before we start, with the parking, the lift and the access sorted in advance.
Knightsbridge is a red route with expensive buildings on either side, which is a fair summary of the problem. Brompton Road and Knightsbridge itself cannot be stopped on, so almost every job here loads from a side street and carries, or goes through a building's own service entrance.
Most of the residential work is in managed blocks, where the porter and the goods lift decide the pace. The rest is retail: stock, fixtures and display pieces moving in and out of units around the Brompton Road, nearly always outside trading hours.
The buildings in Knightsbridge
Mansion blocks and modern managed apartments make up the bulk of it, most with a service entrance separate from the front door and a goods lift that has to be booked. Behind them, the terraces on Beauchamp Place and the streets towards Walton Street are narrower, with staircases that limit what will come down in one piece.
Parking, loading and access in Knightsbridge
Brompton Road and Knightsbridge are red routes with no stopping at any time on the main stretches. Loading happens on the side streets: Beauchamp Place, Walton Street, Montpelier Street and the smaller turnings. The area straddles Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea, so the parking authority changes depending on the address, which matters when we apply for a suspension. Knightsbridge is inside the Congestion Charge zone. Managed blocks want the goods lift booked in advance.

Man and van in Knightsbridge: common questions
There is nowhere to stop on Brompton Road. Where do you load?
From the nearest side street, or through your building's service entrance if it has one. Brompton Road is a red route and stopping on it is not an option at any hour. We work the carry into the price rather than treating it as an extra.
Which council do I deal with for a bay suspension here?
It depends which side of the boundary you are on. Addresses towards Sloane Street and Basil Street are usually Westminster, while those towards Brompton Oratory and Walton Street are Kensington and Chelsea. We check before applying, because applying to the wrong one wastes several days.
Can you deliver retail stock outside trading hours?
Yes, and for most Knightsbridge units it is the only workable option. Early morning before the street fills, or evening after closing. Tell us the unit's delivery rules when you book and we will fit the slot.
