Everything in Victoria is shaped by the station and the coach station next to it. Traffic is constant, the roads around Buckingham Palace Road and Vauxhall Bridge Road move slowly at almost any hour, and a van standing where it should not be gets noticed quickly.
The Nova and Cardinal Place developments brought a lot of new office and residential space into the area, and those buildings are genuinely easy to move into: proper loading bays, goods lifts and a facilities team who deal with this weekly. The older stock on the side streets is a different proposition.
The buildings in Victoria
Two distinct types. The new-build apartments around Victoria Street and Bressenden Place have underground loading bays, dedicated goods lifts and a concierge, which makes them among the most straightforward moves in central London. Behind them, the Victorian terraces and conversions towards Warwick Way and Wilton Road have narrow stairs, no lift and permit-only parking outside.
Parking, loading and access in Victoria
Victoria Street, Vauxhall Bridge Road and Buckingham Palace Road are red routes with no stopping. Westminster controls the parking everywhere else. The new developments have booked loading bays and those need reserving with the building, usually a few days ahead. For the older stock we load from Warwick Way, Denbigh Street or the smaller turnings, and a suspension is worth considering for a full flat. The area is inside the Congestion Charge zone.

My building has an underground loading bay. Will your van fit?
Usually, but the height restriction is the thing to check. Most Victoria basement bays are around two metres, which a Luton box van will not clear. Send us the stated headroom and we will bring a vehicle that fits, or arrange street loading instead.
How bad is the traffic around the station?
Bad enough that we plan around it. For anything in SW1E we prefer an early start or a mid-afternoon slot rather than sitting in the Buckingham Palace Road queue. The price does not change, but the day goes better.
Can you help with a move to or from the coach station?
Yes. Boxes, cases and single items to and from Victoria Coach Station are a common small job. There is no long stopping outside, so we agree a meeting time and keep it tight.
