Student moves for King's College London

from £120

Every figure includes VAT.

King's is the most spread out of the central London universities: the Strand on the north bank, Guy's at London Bridge, Waterloo and St Thomas' on the south, and Denmark Hill further out. Which campus you are attached to decides which halls you are near, and those two facts decide almost everything about the move.

Four campuses, four different moves

A Strand student and a Guy's student are at the same university and in different cities as far as a van is concerned. The Strand is Westminster controlled parking on one of the busiest roads in London. Guy's and the Waterloo halls are Southwark and Lambeth, with more room to stop and considerably more building management to satisfy.

Tell us the campus and the hall rather than the university. King's covers so much ground that the name on its own tells us nothing useful about where the van is going.

The Strand, and why we will not load on it

The Strand itself is a red route in stretches and heavy traffic everywhere else, with no realistic stopping during the working day. Anything at that campus loads from a side street towards Covent Garden or the Aldwych and carries.

That is a five minute walk with a trolley rather than a disaster, and it is worth knowing before you picture a van outside the door.

Worth knowing

  • Tell us the campus and the hall, not just that you are at King's
  • For anything on the Strand, expect to load from a side street
  • Denmark Hill is a different job from central: further, easier to park, longer drive
  • Book June before exams, because all four campuses empty in the same fortnight

King's College London: common questions

How much is a student move for King's?

A single room within London is £150 to £340 including VAT, most around £220. The figure covers the crew, the van, the wrapping, the fuel and the Congestion Charge. Denmark Hill and Stratford addresses sit at the upper end because of the drive.

Can you unload at the Strand campus?

Not on the Strand itself, which is red route in places and too busy to stop on during the day. We work from a side street towards the Aldwych or Covent Garden and carry, which for a single room is a short trolley run rather than a problem.

Which King's halls do you cover?

All of them. Most of our work is around the Waterloo and Southwark halls because that is where the largest concentration is, and Bankside House nearby has its own page. Champion Hill at Denmark Hill is further out and priced accordingly.

Do you cross the river as part of the job?

Constantly on this one. King's is the university where a single move most often has one campus on each bank, and the bridges rather than the distance are what set the timing.

Send the two addresses and the floor at each end and we will come back with a fixed price, usually within a couple of hours. No site visit needed for most jobs.
