A student move that is usually a flat move
Because so many Birkbeck students are working adults, the typical job here is not a hall room. It is a one bedroom flat, a house share, or a family moving across London while somebody studies in the evenings.
That means the studio and one bedroom bands are usually the right ones to look at rather than the student room price, and the cost guides are more use than this page. The relevant thing Birkbeck adds is the timing.
Evening teaching, and what it does to the timing
A student who is in class from six is not moving on a weekday evening, and one who works during the day is not moving then either. Birkbeck moves cluster into weekends and into the gaps between terms far more sharply than other universities.
Saturdays cost ten to fifteen per cent more than a midweek slot everywhere in London. Where a Friday morning or a Monday works, it is the cheapest thing you can change.
