Shoreditch is warehouse conversions and small commercial units in roughly equal measure, and both move often. Flats change hands regularly, studios and agencies take space for a couple of years and then take more of it, and the streets are narrow enough that where the van stands matters more than what goes in it.
Weekends are the complication. Brick Lane and the surrounding markets bring crowds and street closures on Sundays, and the roads around Redchurch Street and Shoreditch High Street fill up. We schedule around it rather than into it.
The buildings in Shoreditch
Converted industrial buildings with open floors, exposed services and shared goods lifts of variable quality. Some have a lift that takes a sofa comfortably and some have one that takes a person and four boxes. Newer blocks towards Shoreditch High Street station have proper service access. The older terraces towards Hoxton and Bethnal Green are conventional narrow stair conversions.
Parking, loading and access in Shoreditch
Shoreditch sits outside the Congestion Charge zone, with the boundary running to the south and west. Shoreditch High Street, Great Eastern Street and Old Street are red routes or heavily restricted. Hackney and Tower Hamlets both cover parts of the area. The side streets are narrow and often have parked vehicles on both sides, so a Luton can be a genuine problem on some of them. Sunday markets around Brick Lane close roads and make loading impractical nearby.

Can you move on a Sunday near Brick Lane?
On the surrounding streets sometimes, immediately around the market no. Sunday closures and crowds make loading impractical within a few streets of Brick Lane. If your address is in that area we will suggest a weekday or an early Saturday instead.
My street is narrow with cars parked both sides. Will a van fit?
A smaller van will, a Luton often will not. Several Shoreditch side streets are effectively single lane once both sides are parked. Tell us the street and we will match the vehicle, which sometimes means two runs instead of one.
Is Shoreditch in the Congestion Charge zone?
No. The zone boundary runs south and west of Shoreditch, so EC2A and E1 addresses here sit outside it. Moves that cross into the zone pick up the charge on that leg, included in the price.
