Addresses that front the riverside walk are reached from a street behind, which makes the carry longer than the map suggests.
The buildings themselves are mostly modern or well converted, with concierges and service lifts. Once the van is in the right place the job runs quickly. Getting the van in the right place is the part worth planning.

Where the building fronts the Thames Path there is no vehicle access on that side at all, and everything is carried from the rear or side entrance.
Parking, loading and access in Bankside
Bankside sits inside the Congestion Charge zone. Southwark Street and Blackfriars Road carry restriction. The Thames Path is pedestrian only and cannot be used by vehicles at any point. Southwark controls the parking and the bays around Sumner Street and Great Guildford Street are limited. Most apartment blocks have a service entrance and some have a small loading bay, both of which usually need arranging with the concierge in advance.

Man and van in Bankside: common questions
My flat faces the river. Where does the van go?
Round the back. The Thames Path is pedestrian only and there is no vehicle access on the river side of any Bankside building. We load from the street entrance or the service door, which on some blocks means a carry of a hundred metres or more. It is in the price rather than added later.
Does my concierge need to know in advance?
Nearly always yes. Most Bankside blocks want contractor access booked, the goods lift reserved and sometimes the lobby floor protected. Give us the concierge contact and we will arrange it directly.
Is Bankside in the Congestion Charge zone?
Yes, SE1 here sits inside the zone. The charge is included in the price we quote you.
