Three types, and they behave differently. The garden square terraces are grand at the front and tight inside, with a communal staircase that turns sharply. Parking, loading and access in Belgravia
Belgravia is inside the Congestion Charge zone. Grosvenor Place and Knightsbridge are red routes. The garden squares are Westminster controlled parking and heavily subscribed, so a suspension is often the practical answer for a full move. The mews are the real constraint: many are cobbled, most are narrow, and several will not take a Luton van at all. Can a van get down my mews?
It depends on the mews, and it is worth checking rather than assuming. Several Belgravia mews are too narrow for a Luton, and a few have bollards or a width restriction at the entrance. Give us the name when you book and we will match the vehicle to the access, which usually means a smaller van and one extra trip.
How do you protect furniture in transit?
Everything soft is blanket wrapped before it leaves the room, not in the van. Wooden pieces get corner protection, mirrors and glass are wrapped and carried flat, and everything is strapped rather than stacked loose. For genuinely valuable pieces tell us in advance so we bring extra padding.
Do you work with storage during a refurbishment?
Yes, in both directions. We move furniture out to storage at the start of a refurbishment and bring it back when the work is done. If you already have a storage facility we will work with theirs, and if not we can point you at one.
