Chelsea is Kensington and Chelsea controlled parking throughout and free bays are hard to come by during the working day. The terraces off the King's Road and around Cheyne Walk and Chelsea Square have raised ground floors with external steps, basement flats reached by their own staircase, and interior stairs that turn at the half landing. Several of the smaller streets and the mews off Fulham Road will not take a box van. The King's Road and Fulham Road themselves are busy and poor loading positions, so we work from a side street or a suspended bay.

Fulham is Hammersmith and Fulham, and the housing is a close cousin of Chelsea's. The terraces around Parsons Green, Munster Village and the Peterborough estate roads have front gardens, a step or two up, and the same turning staircase. Resident bays are more available than in Chelsea and a suspension is needed less often, which is one of the few places on this list where the destination is easier than the origin. Fulham Road, North End Road and Fulham Palace Road are all too busy to load from. Match day at Craven Cottage or Stamford Bridge closes streets and fills every space for a wide radius, and it is the single thing most likely to disrupt a move here.
The journey
The Fulham Road the whole way, which is about two miles and takes fifteen minutes when it moves. It is a shopping street for much of its length with buses, deliveries and a good deal of stopping traffic.
The alternative down the King's Road and along New King's Road is no faster and often slower. On a two mile route the choice barely matters, and we plan around fixture lists rather than around traffic.
The fixture list, which we check before the date
Stamford Bridge is on the boundary of this route and Craven Cottage is at the far end of it. On a match day the roads around either fill up hours before kick-off, streets get closed, and parking disappears across a wide area.
We check the fixtures before agreeing a date on this corridor, which is not something most routes need. If your completion or tenancy date is fixed and it falls on a match day, we start early and finish before the roads close rather than pretending it makes no difference.
Two boroughs, and the easier end is the destination
Chelsea is Kensington and Chelsea, Fulham is Hammersmith and Fulham. Where suspensions are needed that is two applications with two lead times, each running to several working days.
The useful part is that you usually only need one. Fulham side streets have resident bays more often than Chelsea does, so the application that matters is the one at the origin. Give us the Chelsea address early and the Fulham end will generally look after itself.
